Tigerfish
If you are a quick typist with a good ear for language and a strong sense of written English, transcribing for Tigerfish can be a way to earn money while working at home (or on the road) with a flexible schedule. Tigerfish has been in business since 1989. While we demand the highest quality of work from our transcribers, we are known for friendliness and flexibility concerning their needs. Many transcribers have been with us for more than a decade. These include stay-at-home parents, artists and writers pursuing creative projects, and people working from abroad as they travel.
Transcription is the rendering of recorded speech into written form. Our clients produce a wide variety of materials, from single subject interviews to focus groups, documentary film footage to corporate research projects, police interrogations to depositions. Different styles and levels of interpretation are called for: absolute verbatim, editing for clarity, or occasionally having to paraphrase specified sections. One thing we have found to be indispensable in a successful transcriber is the ability to write well. Spoken language often takes forms that are subject to a wide degree of grammatical and syntactical interpretation. It is the job of the transcriber to listen for meaning and make intelligent decisions on the best way to render the spoken word in written form

1-800-Flowers Call Center Order Taking

800Flowers Link
From what I have seen go to the bottom of their homepage, and look for the tab called 'employment'. Now what I have seen in the past is a listing of job, but towards the top of that list it mentions:
Learn more about Customer Service - Part-Time Work from Home Opportunity
Note: To be considered for this position, please read this entire section carefully.
That was listed by itself - in a large purple box away from the other employment descriptions. I almost missed it!
1-800-Flowers.com customer service center, recent winner of the global call center of the year award is now hiring customer service oriented individuals to work from the comfort and convenience of their home office. These employees serve as the first contact customers have with the company.Read more...
We are looking for flexible, PC-savvy individuals to work on a part time basis and who live in the following states; Arizona, Florida, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Ohio, New York, Texas, Virginia and Nevada. Successful candidates must have their own PC with reliable high-speed internet connection, a dedicated land line telephone (conventional non-wireless telephone connection) for incoming calls and can type 35 words per minute. Prior call center experience preferred. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or GED to apply. Good typing, writing, spelling and math skills, with strong communication skills required.
Scheduling Requirement
The nature of the 1-800-flowers.com workload is dependent upon the number of customers that are placing orders. We typically have a steady flow of workload, however during peaks periods such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day our workload increases significantly. We refer to these periods as our “Gold Rush Periods.” During Gold Rush Periods, we require Home Agent Specialists to work 8 – 10 hour shifts on gold days. Gold days are generally 2 – 4 leading up to the day of the holiday and 1 – 3 days following the holiday. Based on your availability, there is a possibility that you could work many more hours during the “Gold Rush Period.”
Public Opinion Research, Inc. - Calling to Complete Survey
Posted by Hannah | 10:49 AM | 0 comments »Public Opinion Research, Inc.
These are cold calls to home, and asking them to answer survey questions. You get paid per survey completed, and I believe the least amount per survey is $5.00. You do have to have your own long distance. They send payments twice a month.
In summary, to do this work you will need:
Access to a computer with high speed (DSL or cable) internet access.
A quite place to work where you will not be disturbed.
A land line, cell phone, or Voice over IP phone line with an inexpensive, unlimited calling plan.
We recommend having a caller ID block put on your phone so that people you are calling don't have your personal number.
Was posted on their site.
Most people that I have heard back from about calling long distance for this job use Skype. They said it is cheap, and works well!
Alot of work at home agents state that: http://www.workplacelikehome.com/
is a very good resource to speak with others that do this type of work - and OTHERS listed on this site! You will need to get a password, signin name, etc. Read more...
TeleTech or Hire Point - Customer Service

Is a customer service based company. You have set hours, and last I heard $9.25 per hour.
I have heard good and bad about their communication, training, software and the rest. It also sounds like you either love them or hate them! LOL! It does look like they hire internationally as well. From what I gather the longer you work there the better your chances of getting the hours/projects that you wish to have.
The one thing I never heard was the fact they don't pay you. It seems that maybe there is a bit of learning curve at the beginning, and once you get over that it seems to be fine. So I guess once you get over the bottlenecks your set, and again you do see a paycheck!
